Choy Choi, throughout its various incarnations, has always been first and foremost about great songs, loud guitars and live performance. Dave Ruegg’s ear for melody and truly inspired lyrics, Gary Smith’s blistering guitar solos, the late Lee Rollings ‘Bonhamesque’ drums and since 1991 the solid rhythm section of Chris & Merrick holding it all together.

Lee is such a tough act to follow, and we are therefore delighted to welcome Dan Agate to the Choy Choi family. His frankly frightening talent and musical knowledge has breathed new life into our back catalogue, given a sense of direction to the arrangement of our new material and significantly reduced the average age of the band.

We are getting some recordings with him ‘in the can’ at the moment. Follow progress here.
